Web14 Jul 2024 · I can ping 8.8.8.8 just fine, but ping google.com returns ping: unknown host google.com. Also my browser can't seem to connect to any site. I can browse just fine on other network tho. Have tried solutions offered in. I can ping IPs but can't resolve domains; can ping google dns, but not google.de -> unknown host // worked in another network Web4 May 2012 · I am running an Ubuntu VMware image under VMware Workstation. The host OS is Windows 7. I can access the Internet from the guest. I have my Windows firewall disabled; also, Windows Defender is turned off. When I try to ping from the guest to the host and vice versa by IP it works fine.
